Its name associates with Artemis, goddess of the moon and mother of nature. It is very well known for its ability to induce vivid or lucid dreams. Mildly stimulating to the nervous system helping to reduce tension, improve digestion, and increase circulation and nutrients to the nerves and muscles. Also known as "chronewort" and is very associated with women's lunar cycles, and has long been used to induce flow and relieve painful cramping by helping to increase circulation, to warm the uterus and pelvic region, move the blood, remove stagnant blood, and regulate hormone levels. Used in TCM for warming and breaking up stagnation, and is usually burned as moxa over an area.
